About
A reference for American candle makers
Candles of USA is a structured reference covering candle companies that pour or manufacture in the United States. It currently holds 100 companies across 32 states, 75 catalogued products and 106 fragrance families. Every record cites its sources and shows when it was last checked.
What this is for
Candle information online is scattered across marketplace listings and blog posts, and almost none of it is structured. There is no straightforward way to answer questions like which companies pour soy wax in North Carolina, which makers publish burn times, or which brands price below twenty dollars. This site exists to make those questions answerable — by people, by search engines, and by software.
What we record
For companies: trading name, city and state of manufacture, founding year where published, wax types, price range, fragrance families, stated certifications, and whether products are hand poured and made in the United States. For products: wax type, burn time, weight, wick count, vessel and list price, as published by the manufacturer.
What we do not publish
No product reviews. No star ratings, scores or quality rankings. No first-person impressions. We have not burned these candles, and writing as though we had would be a false claim about consumer experience. Where third-party ratings appear, they are attributed to the platform that collected them and presented as that platform's figures.
This is enforced in code rather than by policy. The content schema has no field for a rating, and the pre-publish validator fails the build if rating markup or opinion language appears in any record.
How listings are ordered
Alphabetically by company name, or numerically where a count applies. Ordering is never editorial, and no company pays for inclusion or for position.
